OUR SPEAKERS! -
Mark T. Guithues is a California community association attorney, licensed real estate broker, and founder of Community Legal Advisors. He began his career in community associations as a portfolio manager with N.N. Jaeschke, where he managed both residential and commercial associations and gained firsthand experience with board operations, governance, and association management.
Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from UCLA and later attended the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as an associate editor for the San Diego Law Review and received mediation training. After being admitted to the California Bar, he practiced community association law, providing general counsel and litigation services to association clients.
Mark has extensive experience in the creation and governance of residential, commercial, and mixed-use common interest developments. He previously worked as a subdivision attorney with Jackson|DeMarco|Tidus|Peckenpaugh and has authored updates for the State Bar of California’s CEB publication, Forming California Common Interest Developments.
He has also served in several industry leadership roles, including with the San Diego County Bar Association Real Property Law Section, ECHO, and legislative action committees for CAI and CACM. Mark represented CACM’s interests before the California Law Revision Commission during the rewrite of the Davis-Stirling Act and was recognized as a stakeholder for his work related to commercial and industrial common interest developments.
Patrick Prendiville, CIRMS, started Prendiville Insurance Agency in 1988 after graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Patrick has earned the “Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist (CIRMS)” designation from Community Associations Institute (CAI). Over the years, Patrick has been actively involved in multiple chapters of CAI. Highlights of Patrick’s involvement with Community Association Institute’s local Chapters Include:
