Most needed items: Blankets, Towels, Kitten & Puppy Food (preferably wet but dry too!) Sanitizing supplies and anything else that is needed to care for our animals in need. Bring us your gently used or new towels and blankets, and food of all types. Bring something and get a raffle ticket to win some great prizes! All items are going to benefit the local Thousand Palms campus for the Riverside County Animal Shelter. We are such lovers of animals, so let's extend our love to those who need it the mo

This months' Speakers:
John Walters, CMCA®, AMS®, CCAM®, is a seasoned community association management professional with over a decade of experience overseeing large-scale residential communities and complex association operations. He currently serves as General Manager of Palm Valley Homeowners Association in Palm Desert, California, where he directs the day-to-day operations of a 1,274-unit condominium association.
John began his career in the HOA industry as Director of Marketing and Business Development for NPG Paving, working closely with community associations throughout the Coachella Valley, San Diego, and Los Angeles regions on large-scale asphalt, concrete, and infrastructure projects. Through this work, he developed a strong foundation in reserve planning, capital improvement projects, vendor coordination, and the operational needs of common-interest developments, which led to his transition into full-time community association management.
In 2016, John joined Desert Resort Management / Associa, where he advanced into large-scale portfolio management, overseeing multiple high-profile associations with combined annual budgets exceeding $20 million. He later served as Director of Marketing and Business Development for Desert Resort Management, before moving into on-site general management, where he has built a reputation for strong leadership, fiscal discipline, and effective collaboration with Boards of Directors, committees, and homeowners.
John specializes in strategic planning, financial oversight, governance support, and vendor contract negotiation, with a proven track record of successfully managing major reserve projects, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining high levels of homeowner satisfaction in large-scale master-planned and condominium communities.
He holds the professional designations Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), Association Management Specialist (AMS®), and California Community Association Manager (CCAM®).
Mallory Paproth has been with SCT Reserve Consultants working on reserve studies for over a decade. Mallory is a CSU, Long Beach alumni with a bachelor’s degree in business finance. She has attained her Educated Business Partner distinction and is working towards the RS designation. Mallory has served on numerous CAI and CLAC committees throughout Southern California chapters, currently a member of the education committee here at CAI-CV. She has written many articles for trade magazines and is a strong believer in advancement through education.
Rob Winkle is the CEO of Roof Asset Management, Inc. Roof Asset Management does re-roofing, water-proofing and roof maintenance.
Rob has been roofing in the Coachella Valley for 37 years and has been a member of Coachella Valley chapter of CAI for over 30 years. He has served on the Board of Directors for the chapter, including as President, and many committees (including Awards, Monte Carlo, Bowling and Golf). Rob joined CAI because it is a great opportunity to interact with members of the community. Over the past 30+ years, he has developed many great friendships with members.
Rob has served on the Board of Directors of the Western States Roofing Contractors Association for 14 year and is currently serving as the Senior Vice President.
Rob has 4 sisters and 2 brothers and credits his brother, Richard, for getting him into the roofing business. His brother Ron is his best friend and business partner. He loves spending time with his family which includes his wife, Ronda, son Taylor and his step-daughter Breanna.
Anyone who knows Rob knows about his love for the game of golf. He also has a very eclectic taste in music including Country, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music and even some current music.
Stephen M. Kirkland is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Delphi Law Group, LLP. Stephen, a proud kiwi, attended the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Philosophy. Stephen came to the United States to play and coach rugby in the early 1990s intending to carry on to London but the North County, San Diego lifestyle quickly changed that plan. Stephen attended the Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he graduated cum laude and as a member of Law Review. Stephen has worked in the common interest development industry since 1991, and as an attorney since 2001. Stephen currently oversees the collections department at Delphi.
While his best years are arguably behind him (he’s the only one arguing), Stephen still plays rugby with his fellow geezers, the KwaZulu Olds Crocs, touring to such exotic locales as Medellin, Prague, Budapest, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Granda and Barcelona, to name a few. While the Old Crocs may not win all their games, they have never lost an after-match party. Stephen has recently re-discovered reading for pleasure (“I love my Kindle”) and hopes to soon return to the rail of a sailboat having spent hundreds if not thousands of hours racing on the water (“Ask me about the time we won our class in the Newport to Ensenada regatta.”)
